Additionally, trauma-informed care recognizes the importance for students to understand the impact of the work on self, colleagues, the organization, and the system. Understanding the impact of secondary traumatic stress, vicarious traumatization, vicarious resilience, and posttraumatic growth is critical to professional growth and development. Second, Non-violent Crisis Intervention training is a safe, nonharmful behavior management system designed to help human service professionals provide the best possible care for vulnerable people involved in crisis situations. This training will result in the possibility of students becoming certified in Non-violent Crisis Intervention. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer.
