About the Program


The Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence (MSAAI) program offered at Purdue University Northwest prepares graduate-level students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience to design, develop, and implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications to address a wide variety of real-world challenges. The MS in Applied Artificial Intelligence degree is designed to give students a solid foundation in artificial intelligence and offers practical, hands-on experience that allows them to apply AI techniques in a wide range of industries and applications, including healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, construction, agriculture, education, cybersecurity, robotics, finance, and more. The curriculum systematically develops practical skills that enable graduates to apply AI to analyzing data and making predictions or decisions, automating processes or tasks, improving the efficiency or effectiveness of an organization or a process, or providing personalized experiences or recommendations to users.

Admission Requirements


Successful candidates for graduate admission include promising applicants who:

  • have earned baccalaureate degrees from colleges or universities of recognized standing
  • have completed studies equivalent to those required of Purdue University Northwest baccalaureate recipients
  • have earned a B or better average in their undergraduate major. General graduate admission requirements include a cumulative gpa of 3.0/4.0 for unconditional admission.

Degree Requirements


The program is a two-year residential program with a requirement of 30 credit hours of coursework, or 33 credit hours for the thesis-based option.
