Graphic Design Certificate

About the Program

The certificate in Graphic Design provides the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of digital and analog layout and communication strategies within the field of Visual Communication Design. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between concept and narrative, software proficiency, and hybridized thinking between traditional and modern forms of visual production.

Requirements (12 Credits)

• AD 11300 - Basic Drawing
• AD 32800 - Visual Communication Design I
• AD 32900 - Visual Communication Design II

• Choose one:

  • AD 11200 Typography  
  • AD 25500 Art Appreciation  

   

Additional Information and Guidelines

• Basic Drawing and Visual Communication Design 1 are currently offered every semester, whereas Typography and Visual Communication Design 2 are traditionally offered in the Spring.
• Visual Communication Design 1 is a prerequisite for Visual Communication Design 2.
