FLL 33000 - World War II On The Screen: A European Perspective Credit Hours: 3.00. This course is taught in English. It will focus on the complex ways in which filmmakers in Europe have investigated the legacy of World War II. Most of the films studied will be fiction films, but the influence of important documentary films will be examined as well. The course is based on close readings of individual films. We will look at the concept of film analysis and the relationship between film, politics, and society. The writing assignments are designed to develop students’ writing skills in English and their ability to engage critically with the films. All students are expected to participate actively in class discussions and to lead discussions on assigned topics. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer.
