HIST 37800 - Early National America: 1787-1850 Credit Hours: 3.00. An examination of major developments from the framing of the Constitution to the enactment of the Compromise of 1850. Political, constitutional, economic, diplomatic, and social aspects are studied in the context of continuing tensions between the forces of nationalism and sectionalism in the young republic.
