Credit Hours: 3.00. An introduction to information systems from the perspective of a manager. This course provides an overview of information systems, system theory, human information processing, and current legal and ethical issues relating to computer usage. The focus is on the impact that computer-based systems can have on accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, operations, and sales. Topics include e-business, databases, supply-chain management, customer-relationship management, enterprise resource planning, etc. Extensive lab exercises on advanced spreadsheet and database management applications in business context are assigned.
