NUR 62601 - Applied Biostatistics For Outcome Evaluation Credit Hours: 3.00. In this course, students will learn to interpret biostatistics commonly used in nursing and health services research. This course covers important concepts and techniques for understanding and interpreting statistical results and evaluating health outcomes. The focus of this course will be when to use a given method and how to interpret the results, not the actual computation or computer programming to obtain results from raw data. This course will involve minimal calculation and offer no formal training in any statistical software. Students will examine, translate and critically analyze biostatistics through the fundamental concepts of study design, descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, odds ratios, relative risks, multiple linear logistic and proportional hazards regression, power analysis, and survival analysis.
