Credit Hours: 3.00. An examination of the evolutionary process leading to the complex social phenomenon of organized crime. Emphasis will be placed upon the rise of gangs, the Mafia mystique, the immigrant and crime, and the cultural expressions of organized crime through literature and the popular media.
