SWRK 36600 - Group Practice In Social Work


Prerequisite(s): SWRK 24000 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C+ AND SWRK 26100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C+

Credit Hours: 3.00. Group work practice is an elective course introducing the student to group work and providing the opportunity to acquire and use the specialized knowledge and skills particular to working with therapy and task oriented groups. Course content will address Council on Social Work Education core competency criteria for the generalist practice. This course will emphasize the understanding of group dynamics and leadership, planning and initiating the group, specialized methods, and termination and evaluation issues. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer.
