Alternatively, may examine a significant author or text in context. Repeatable on a different topic. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate knowledge of texts that represent national traditions, forms, genres, and/or historical periods.
2. Analyze how historical, social, cultural, intellectual, generic, and/or political context influence texts and how they are interpreted.
3. Read complex texts carefully, detecting nuances of meaning.
4. Construct sustained, coherent arguments.
