HSCI 41900 - Clinical Immunology Credit Hours: 1.00 to 10.00. The course will introduce students to components and functions of innate and adaptive immunity, major histocompatibility complex, antibody structure and function, complement system, using antibody-antigen reaction testing in clinicals as indication of diseases, and variety of rapid immunology kit testing methods. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Understand the general mechanisms and components of human immune system.
2. Understand how antigen-antibody interaction, agglutination, precipitation and labeled immunoassay are utilized in clinical laboratory testing methods.
3. Accurately perform rapid immunological tests and evaluate validity of resulting results.
