Credit Hours: 3.00. This course is designed for students interested in human health and kinesiology-related careers. The course will cover advanced physiology topics relating to human muscular, nervous, circulatory, digestive, endocrine, integumentary, lymphatic, renal, reproductive, respiratory, and skeletal systems. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Use physiological and medical terminology precisely and correctly.
2. Summarize contraction and relaxation steps for skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle.
3. Compare and contrast arteries and veins, the sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions of the autonomic nervous system and summarize autonomic regulation of skeletal and cardiac blood flow.
4. Describe the roles of the renal and respiratory systems on acid / base regulation.
5. Illustrate the primary pituitary hormones and sex hormones and describe their effects on blood glucose and bone homeostasis.
