CRJU 31800 - Wrongful Convictions Prerequisite(s): CRJU 15000 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D-
Credit Hours: 3.00. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to a major source of injustice in the criminal justice system: wrongful convictions. Additionally, contributing factors to wrongful convictions will be addressed. Students will examine real-life cases involving claims of factual innocence among the convicted. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Understand the various contributing factors of wrongful convictions.
2. Understand the post-exoneration experience.
3. Apply theory and research to real-life wrongful conviction cases.
4. Address strategies to prevent wrongful conviction.
