Credit Hours: 3.00. Study of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, storytelling, and/or hybrid form theory and techniques, both in published texts and student manuscripts. Students produce multiple texts and drafts. Workshop criticism. Can be taken up to three times for credit. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Develop a greater understanding of the form and theory of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, storytelling, and/or hybrid texts.
2. Read published creative texts, including very recent texts, in order to understand the conventions of and current practices within the field.
3. Read, discuss, and offer feedback on other students’ drafts.
4. Draft and revise multiple pieces to produce high-quality, polished work suitable for submission to creative publications.
