FIN 45200 - Risk Management In Financial Institutions Credit Hours: 3.00. This course is designed to introduce students to the key sources of risks faced by financial institutions. The course will show, in particular, how to identify and manage risks arising from the financial and operational activities of depository financial institutions. Students will learn about the risk mitigation techniques appropriate for a highly regulated financial sector, such as banking. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Identify and describe the major financial risks faced by banks and other depository financial institutions.
2. Calculate appropriate risk management techniques for the major types of risks faced by banks.
3. Demonstrate how to implement appropriate risk management strategies to measure and manage bank risk exposure.
