Credit Hours: 3.00. (ENGL 33600) Course acquaints students with a new body of literature by women. Students explore mother-daughter relationships as presented in this literature to enhance their understanding of feminist approaches to life. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Read thoughtfully, critically, and with a central purpose.
2. Understand the dominant literary culture in which women write about women’s lives.
3. Comprehend the difference between female conformity and male independence.
4. Explore woman as heroine and woman as marginalized and the facets accompanying those situations.
5. Reflect on the gender issues connected with these works.
6. Address ethical situation which arise in texts.
