HONR 11200 - Honors Cohort II


Credit Hours: 3.00. Required course for second-semester freshmen in the Honors College. Continuation of academic and career planning and undergraduate research. Additional topics include leadership, critical thinking and the study of communication theories as applied to speech. Permission of department required.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Develop further academic and career plans and progress toward implementing those plans. 2. Progress toward becoming an independent and critical thinker, demonstrating the ability to use knowledge and logic when discussing an issue or an idea, while considering the consequences of their idea, for themselves, for others, and for society. 3. Investigate how scholars think about problems, formulate hypotheses, research those problems, and draw conclusions about them. 4. Enhance ability to analyze and synthesize a broad range of material. 5. Improve oral communication skills by adapting an oral message for diverse audiences, contexts, and communication channels.
