FIS 35000 - Courtroom Demeanor Prerequisite(s): POL 34300 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C
Credit Hours: 3.00. This course explores the application of various laws and rules of evidence to the forensic sciences, and examines how the admission and persuasive use of evidence derived from the forensic sciences impacts the administration of justice in the United States. The student will learn of the expert witness in legal matters and the expectations of courtroom behavior. Typically offered Spring. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Understand the role and practice of the expert witness.
2. Understand the rules of evidence and admissibility that govern forensic science in the courtroom.
3. Understand courtroom behavior.
4. Participate in a mock trial as an expert witness.
