A basic introduction to the principles of chemistry including matter and energy, nomenclature, measurement, atomic structure, nuclear chemistry, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, classification of chemical reactions, kinetics, equilibria, gas laws, liquids, and solids. (Not available for credit toward graduation in the School of Engineering and Sciences). Prerequisite: High school algebra with minimum grade of C-.
