SCI 20200 - Environmental Science Credit Hours: 3.00. This course covers basic issues in environmental sciences including life and environment of the earth, management of renewable and non-renewable resources (air, water, soil, food, minerals, energy, etc.) problems and prevention of pollution, and strategies for sustainable economic development. A multidisciplinary approach, based on teamwork, is emphasized. The course will possibly be team-taught by PUC faculty members. Typically offered Spring. General Education: Natural Sciences Course Learning Outcomes 1. Students are expected to understand the processes of scientific methods for testing hypotheses about the natural world, able to apply mathematical skills to quanitative and analytical problem solving in environmental issues, and gain basic knowledge in science of human population dynamics, natural resources, renewable and nonrenewable energy, and environmental pollution.
