Credit Hours: 3.00. A survey of theories and research about how humans remember information and why they often forget. Topics include research on amnesia, forgetting, and sensory memory systems as well as on practical issues such as how to improve memory. Typically offered Fall Spring. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Explain how the science of human and memory enriches understanding of the human mind.
2. Describe what learning and memory are, how they work, and why they work that way.
3. Critically apply the science of learning and memory to evaluate ideas presented in popular media.
