A survey of selected areas of constitutional law, considering the political and social influences as well as the doctrinal forces that have produced these policies and interpretations. Typically offered Fall Spring. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the theory and concepts underlying the distribution and arrangement of institutional powers in the US Constitution.
2. Discuss the constitutional theories associated with the scope of national power, executive power, and federalism.
3. Analyze a phenomenon of interest concerning the Supreme Court’s constitutional interpretation of the arrangement of institutional powers in the United States systematically.
