AD 40300 - Portfolio Process And Presentation


Prerequisite(s): AD 22200 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- AND AD 44800 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D-

Credit Hours: 3.00. The process of organizing, editing, and packaging work in a cohesive system will be illustrated in lecture, indivdiualized studio projects, and on-site portfolio reviews. The course will focus on presentation as well as the building of the portfolio and students will participate in discussions, critiques, resume preparation, and mock interviews. Copyright issues and ownership of work will also be discussed. Typically offered Spring.

1. Demonstrate readiness for job applications and internships with a completed portfolio of design projects. 2. Synthesize their experience of completing semester-long, independent project in Visual Communication Design to future employers. 3. Demonstrate a strong aptitude for applying the design thinking process as a problem-solving tool in project proposals and design briefs. 4. Create personalized application materials suitable for a wide range of communication-adjacent and design-adjacent professions.
