Credit Hours: 3.00. This course presents an introduction to information systems control and audit. The focus is on the critical role that information systems play in the safeguarding of assets and in the efficient utilization of resources, as well as on the compliance of information systems with control and regulatory frameworks. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate understanding of information systems risks, controls, security, and compliance.
2. Demonstrate understanding of transaction processing and financial reporting systems, systems development and maintenance, data structures, and computer-assisted audit tools.
3. Demonstrate understanding of the audit of the revenue and expenditure cycles, enterprise resource planning systems, and information systems issues related to ethics and fraud.
