Credit Hours: 3.00. This course is an introduction to computer programming. Emphasis in this course is on the program development life-cycle, structured programming and top-down design. Topics include identifiers, data types, arithmetic operators, if, if/else, looping, case selection, modules, arrays, and an introduction to classes. Extensive programming exercises are required. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Design and draw accurate logic diagrams.
2. Define data types, such as integer and floating-point.
3. Write the steps needed to develop computer software.
4. Explain the use of methods in modular decomposition.
5. Explain good software development practices.
6. Use basic programming logic constructs.
7. Create basic object-oriented designs and programs.
