Credit Hours: 3.00. The foundation for statistical decision making. Topics include: probability theory, descriptive statistics, estimation, and statistical inference with managerial applications. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. General Education: Quantitative Reasoning Course Learning Outcomes 1. Summarize data with frequency distributions and graphic presentation. 2. Calculate and interpret descriptive statistics for central tendency, dispersion and location utilizing raw data and grouped data. 3. Define and interpret probability, including joint, Marginal and conditional probabilities. 4. Construct and interpret tree diagrams and contingency tables. 5. Utilize discrete and continuous probability distributions to determine probabilities. 6. Apply the central limit theorem to determine probabilities of sample means. 7. Calculate and interpret point estimates and construct confidence intervals. 8. Conduct Hypothesis tests for means and proportions using small and large samples. 9. Conduct Hypothesis tests for two means and two proportions using small and large samples. 10. Utilize linear regression to estimate and predict variables.
