HIST 57300 - The Long Nineteenth Century Credit Hours: 3.00. Historians of the U.S. have sometimes referred to the long nineteenth century because so many of the important lines of historical development industrialization, immigration, labor organization, expansionism, reform overlapped the end of the nineteenth into the beginning of the twentieth centuries. This course focuses on the historiographic models developed to explain these key themes and the interpretation of selected documents pertinent to each. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer.
