This is a creative profession where electrical engineers develop systems that control, monitor, and energize industrial equipment, household products, and transportation systems resulting in virtually every product found in the home and industry today.
Students may choose to complete one concentration from the following areas:
- Bioinstrumentation
- Mechatronics
- Power and Energy Systems

Degree Requirements
2.0 Average GPA required in all ECE courses
PNW General Education Core (32 Credits Minimum)
English Composition (6 Credits)
Speech Communication (3 Credits)
Quantitative Reasoning (5 Credits)
Natural Sciences (8 Credits)
Social Sciences (3 Credits)
Select from the Social Sciences Core list
First-Year Experience (FYE) (1 Credit)
Major Core (70 Credits)
(Minimum grade of C required in the following courses: ECE 15200, ECE 20100, ECE 20200, ECE 20700, MA16400, MA 26100, MA 26400, and PHYS 26100)
Other Required Courses (18 Credits)
Engineering Elective (3 Credits)
Electric and Computer Engineering Elective (9 Credits)
3 courses required:
Technical Elective (3 Credits)

Concentration Options
Students may elect to add a concentration in Bioinstrumentation, Power and Energy Systems, or Bioinstrumentation. These requirements can be accomodated using the Electrical and Computer Engineering, Engineering/Science, and Technical Electives in the Electrical Engineering major. Consult your academic advisor for more information on course requirements and availability.
